This BMW S1000XR came into Motopro Performance in Banksmeadow, Sydney for a general service and a fresh set of Michelin Road 6 GT tyres.
The S1000XR combines high-performance capability with long-distance comfort, so keeping on top of servicing, tyres, brakes and diagnostics is important to make sure the motorcycle continues to perform as it should.
01 / SERVICING & DIAGNOSTICS
BMW S1000XR General Service
During the service, we carried out the scheduled maintenance and a thorough inspection of the motorcycle.
Our general motorcycle servicing includes important mechanical and safety checks to assess the overall condition of the bike, including:
- Engine oil and oil filter replacement
- Fluid levels and condition checks
- Brake inspection
- Tyre and wheel inspection
- Chain and sprocket inspection, adjustment and lubrication
- Suspension inspection
- Steering and chassis checks
- Electrical and charging-system checks
- General fastener and safety inspection
- Final inspection before returning the motorcycle to the rider
We also use TEXA motorcycle diagnostics on compatible motorcycles, allowing us to access the motorcycle's electronic systems, check for faults and carry out relevant service functions where required.
02 / TYRE REPLACEMENT
Michelin Road 6 GT Tyres for the BMW S1000XR
This BMW was also fitted with a new set of Michelin Road 6 GT tyres.
For this S1000XR we fitted:
FRONT120/70 ZR17
REAR190/55 ZR17
The Michelin Road 6 GT is designed for sport-touring motorcycles and is a strong option for riders looking for a balance of road grip, wet-weather performance, stability and tyre life.
For a motorcycle like the S1000XR, tyre choice is important because of the bike's combination of power, weight and touring capability.
